Biloxi Mississippi's Historical Cast Iron Lighthouse
The Biloxi lighthouse is one of history's first cast-iron lighthouses built in the South of the United States. The painted lighthouse is on a pilsner glass surreally tall amidst the swirling waters and wooden piers of the MS Gulf Coast waters. Art Nouveau style with white accents. The pilsner is painted in non-toxic paints and is totally functional glassware.
The historical Biloxi Lighthouse, erected in 1848 is the city's signature landmark and has become a post-Katrina symbol of the city's resolve and resilience. The light was civilian operated from 1848 to 1939, and is notable for its several female light keepers, including Maria Younghans, who tended the light for 53 years. In 1939, the U.S. Coast Guard assumed responsibility for the light's operation. After being declared surplus property in 1968, the Biloxi Lighthouse was deeded to the City of Biloxi.
Today with the city's growth it sits in the middle of four lanes at the I10 Loop on Gulf Coast Hwy 90 east west corridor beautifully refurbished.

For lasting brilliance I recommend hand wash/hand dry; manufacturer dishwasher resistant on upper rack.
